Advertising and sponsorships
What sponsorship on Placer Match will look like, and the rules it will follow.

Nothing is running yet
No advertising or sponsored placement exists on Placer Match today, and no payments are being collected. This page describes what is planned so the rules are published before anything goes live.
What we plan to offer
- Sponsored placement — a labelled position in a separate block on category or results pages, distinct from organic results.
- Guide sponsorship — supporting a local guide, disclosed on that guide.
- Category sponsorship — supporting a category page, disclosed on that page.
The rules any sponsorship follows
- Every paid placement carries a visible “Sponsored” text label.
- Sponsored content sits in its own block, never mixed into organic results.
- Payment has no effect on organic ranking. None. There is no paid input to the formula.
- Payment never produces a verification badge or changes what one says.
- Payment never buys editorial conclusions in a guide.
- A sponsored business is never called a “best match” because it paid.
What is not for sale
- Organic ranking position.
- Verification, or the wording of a verification badge.
- Review removal, review suppression or rating adjustment.
- Exclusion of a competitor from results.
- Visitor personal data.
Who we will and will not work with
Sponsors must be businesses genuinely serving Placer County, with accurate listing information and any licences their trade requires. We will decline sponsorship that would mislead consumers, and we will end a sponsorship rather than defend a misleading claim.
